LIBRARY

In 2000 we added 75 new books to the collection. The breakdown was 27 Easy, 14 Junior/Youth and 34 Adult. We also added 4 new children's videos.

Here are some titles that I particularly enjoyed. In the Easy section, take a look at the new illustrated versions of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Two books that help explain death to children are What's heaven? by Maria Shriver, and The Goodbye Boat by Mary Joslin. In the Youth section, we have two excellent novels by Gayle Friesen - Janey's Girl, and Men of Stone. In the Adult section, my favorites were Swing Low by Miriam Toews, The Girl in the Picture by Kim Phuc, The Good Book by Peter Gomes, and Inside I'm Dancing. If I were to put an inscription above the church library door, I would use the same inscription that is on the Berlin Royal Library - Nutrimentum spiritus (Food for the soul).
