THE MISSION OF NUTANA PARK MENNONITE CHURCH

to be a biblically-based community for

  • redemptive nurture

  • worship

  • invitation to faith

  • prayer

  • education

  • outreach & service

in the context of the global church

The life of commitment needs to emphasize both inner renewal and outward involvement, and that is true for both individuals and for congregations.  This is reflected in our mission statement. One of the statements read "to server each other and our community with Christ as our focus". We attempt to accomplish this by focusing on the following areas:

  1. Each Other - our membership represents a wide range of needs, as our ages cover the spectrum form the newly born (and earlier!) to the 90+.  We try to speak to these needs by program and by personal contacts.
    1. Program - Major attention is given to our worship times - music, sharing, preaching, trying to involve more people and more age groups
    2. Personal Contact - meeting with people - at work - on campus - in homes and spending time with people around key life issues - births, marriages, deaths.
  2. Outward Involvement
    1. Awareness of the larger church through speaker and choir exchanges
    2. Regular reports from our various conference levels.
    3. Involvement in community services projects by the membership (Neighbourlink, Habitat for Humanity, Clothes closet, Ten Thousand Villages, Cosmo Industries, Meals on Wheels, etc.)
    4. Creating a welcoming atmosphere for newcomers and seekers.
