MISSIONS
" . . . be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8 NRSV
I was taught in my youth that this verse exhorts us to do more (regarding the churches mission) than just "acting locally, and thinking globally". Rather, our challenge is to be a witness at home and in our community, in our region (I’ll define that as North America) and worldwide.
As missions deacon, I use this as a guide to develop awareness and initiatives for our church family to be involved in local, regional and worldwide missions.
The objectives are:
- to create awareness of outreach that is currently happening in NPMC;
- to provide awareness of local missions activities for our youth and to encourage them to be involved in these activities;
- to create awareness among our church family of local, regional, and worldwide missions activities and suggest ways that people may become involved.
